The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has announced temporary water cuts across seven areas on August 4 to facilitate maintenance work at the Kandana Water Treatment Plant.
Residents across multiple districts are advised to prepare for temporary water supply disruptions scheduled for August 4, as the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) conducts essential maintenance operations at the Kandana Water Treatment Plant. The planned interruptions will impact seven areas with varying suspension periods throughout the day.
Modern and Panadura will experience a five-hour suspension from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while Horana, Kumbuka, and Ingiriya face identical five-hour cuts beginning at 4:00 p.m. and concluding at 9:00 p.m. Bandaragama will face the longest disruption among the affected areas, with water supply suspended for twelve hours from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Piliyandala residents will experience an extended interruption lasting sixteen hours, commencing at 4:00 p.m. on August 4 and resuming at 8:00 a.m. on August 5.
The NWSDB has urged affected residents to store adequate water supplies in advance of the scheduled maintenance work.
