It has been revealed that a 30-year-old man who was murdered in Weeraketiya was an active member of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and served as the Media Secretary of the Hambantota District Youth SJB.The victim was identified as a resident of Hakuruwela, according to police.According to police, the incident had occurred yesterday (27) after an argument broke out during a party. The dispute reportedly had escalated, resulting in the victim being attacked with a sharp weapon.Police have arrested the suspect in connection with the murder. The suspect is a 29-year-old resident of Medamulana.Police also stated that the suspect's mother sustained injuries during the altercation and was admitted to the Weeraketiya Hospital for treatment.Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Weeraketiya Police.
