Police arrested a 25-year-old resident of Digana following a raid that uncovered a live hand grenade, narcotics, and various weapons at his residence.

A 25-year-old man has been taken into custody in Digana after officers from the Teldeniya Police Station conducted a raid based on received intelligence. During the initial arrest, authorities recovered crystal methamphetamine weighing 5,155 milligrams and Rs. 63,000 in cash, which police believe originated from drug trafficking activities.

Information gathered from the suspect led investigators to search his residence, where they discovered additional illicit materials. Officers uncovered a foreign-manufactured live hand grenade, an additional 1,250 milligrams of crystal methamphetamine, two swords, and a pointed knife that had been hidden inside the house.

The suspect remains in detention as investigators continue their inquiry. The Teldeniya Police are conducting further investigations into the matter, which appears to involve both narcotics distribution and illegal weapons possession.
