Janashakthi Life, a major player in Sri Lanka's insurance sector, has concluded the latest edition of Shilpa Shakthi, marking the programme's 12th consecutive year of operation. The educational initiative targets students preparing for the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, one of the island's pivotal academic assessments.
The 2026 programme was conducted in partnership with Derana FM and delivered 12 educational seminars across key regions, engaging 6,568 Grade 5 candidates. Participants received expert guidance on examination techniques, academic preparation strategies, and motivational support designed to build student confidence. The seminars also included dedicated sessions for parents, recognising their role in supporting children through the examination process.
According to Ravi Liyanage, Director and CEO of Janashakthi Life, the company views educational investment as crucial for community and national development. He stated that the programme continues to bridge educational gaps and improve access to quality learning resources regardless of geographical location. As a further incentive, Janashakthi Life will distribute educational scholarships to 20 programme participants selected through a raffle draw, providing additional financial support for their academic pursuits.
