Sri Lanka will host the SEARIC Summit 2026 from September 11-13, bringing together over 500 youth leaders from across South East Asia to discuss technology's role in future careers and community service.
Sri Lanka is preparing to host the South East Asia Rotaract Information Centre (SEARIC) Summit for the first time, with the three-day event scheduled to take place at Pegasus Reef Hotel from 11 to 13 September 2026. The summit, organised by Rotary International District 3220 covering Sri Lanka and the Maldives, is expected to attract more than 500 delegates from six countries across the region.
The gathering will operate under the theme "The Role of Technology in the Future of Careers and Services," examining how emerging technologies are reshaping employment landscapes and professional practices. Participants will engage in leadership development sessions, professional training workshops, cultural programmes and networking activities designed to facilitate knowledge exchange among young leaders from the region.
SEARC functions as a regional network connecting Rotaract districts across South East Asia, serving as a platform for collaboration and information sharing among young members of the Rotary movement. The annual summit represents the network's primary gathering, bringing together Rotaractors and Rotarians for shared learning and cross-border fellowship.
Beyond its significance to the Rotary movement, the event positions Sri Lanka as an emerging destination for international conferences and youth leadership programmes. Organisers anticipate that hosting hundreds of international delegates will provide opportunities to showcase Sri Lankan hospitality and culture while strengthening regional ties and demonstrating the leadership potential of young people in addressing contemporary challenges.
