Charith Asalanka has improved his standing in international cricket, moving up one place to ninth position in the ICC ODI Men's batting rankings with 659 rating points. The Sri Lankan batter has consolidated his presence among the world's elite one-day batters, though some of his teammates have moved in the opposite direction. Fellow Sri Lankans Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka have each dropped one position to 12th and 15th respectively.
India's Shubman Gill continues to dominate the ODI batting rankings, maintaining his position at the top. New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell sits in second place, while India's Virat Kohli occupies third. In the bowling department, Afghanistan's Rashid Khan holds the first position, followed by Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed in second and England's Jofra Archer in third. Among Sri Lankan bowlers, Maheesh Theekshana is ranked sixth while Wanindu Hasaranga remains 15th.
In Test cricket, Pakistan's recent breakthrough has been rewarded with notable ranking improvements. Pakistan defeated the West Indies by eight wickets in their ICC World Test Championship series, marking their first Test victory away from home in over three years. Captain Babar Azam moved up five places to reach 10th in the Test batting rankings—his first appearance in the top 10 since September 2024, ending nearly a two-year gap for the skipper. Abdullah Shafique made the most dramatic climb, gaining 25 positions to 32nd after scoring an unbeaten 160 in the first innings. Spinner Sajid Khan improved five places to 30th among Test bowlers and similarly climbed five spots to 32nd in the all-rounders ranking.
Travis Head of Australia maintains the top position in Test batting rankings, while India's pace spearhead leads the Test bowling charts and Ravindra Jadeja remains the leading Test all-rounder.
