Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a striking individual effort, dancing past Villa's defence before firing past goalkeeper Marco Bizot. However, Villa responded through 17-year-old Brian Madjo, who converted a volley in the final seconds of the first half to level the match. Madjo, making his debut for Villa after recently receiving clearance to play following a Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling, became the youngest-ever scorer in the UEFA Super Cup.
Doue restored PSG's lead early in the second half with a well-taken finish following a through ball from Ousmane Dembele. Though an initial offside flag was raised, a VAR review confirmed the goal. Villa pressed for an equaliser throughout the remainder of the match but could not find another breakthrough, as PSG's defence held firm.
The victory marks PSG's second consecutive Super Cup triumph and positions them alongside AC Milan and Real Madrid as only teams to retain the trophy consecutively. Manager Luis Enrique achieved his 13th trophy since joining PSG in 2023, while Aston Villa boss Unai Emery suffered his fourth consecutive defeat in the competition. PSG will next compete for the French Super Cup against Lens on Sunday.
