The Sri Lanka Navy completed recovery of a Fast Attack Craft on Wednesday following an accident that occurred the previous day approximately three nautical miles off the Angulana coastline in Moratuwa. The vessel was retrieved after several hours of operations conducted with assistance from specialist diving teams, despite challenging conditions marked by rough seas and strong winds.

The incident took place around 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday as the craft returned to Colombo after completing a patrol mission. A joint rescue effort involving the Navy, Air Force, Angulana Police, and local fishermen resulted in 11 of the 12 personnel aboard being rescued. Those rescued are receiving care at the Sri Lanka Navy Hospital, with their medical conditions reported as not critical.

Search and rescue operations for the remaining missing naval personnel continued throughout the day following the recovery. The recovered vessel has been transported to Colombo Harbour for further examination.
