Authorities have seized approximately 5 million rupees worth of substandard vehicle spare parts and lubricants from a shop in Kadawatha, with legal action planned against the proprietor.

The Consumer Affairs Authority conducted a raid on a vehicle spare parts retailer located along the Kadawatha–Ganemulla road following reports of multiple consumer protection violations. The operation resulted in the seizure of substandard lubricants and automotive components valued at nearly 5 million rupees.

The raid targeted several alleged breaches of consumer regulations, including the sale and storage of substandard vehicle parts and lubricants, as well as the failure to properly display product prices to customers. Following the inspection, authorities sealed all confiscated goods as part of their enforcement procedures.

The Consumer Affairs Authority indicated that investigations into the matter remain ongoing. The agency stated that legal action will be pursued against both the shop owner and associated sales agents involved in the distribution of these products.
