SriLankan Airlines has entered into a new interline partnership with Island Aviation Services (Maldivian) to provide seamless travel connections across 17 domestic destinations in the Maldives.

SriLankan Airlines has formalized a new interline agreement with Maldivian, the domestic carrier operating as Island Aviation Services, to enhance connectivity across the Maldivian archipelago. The arrangement enables passengers to book combined journeys on both airlines under a single electronic ticket, covering routes through Velana International Airport in Malé and Gan International Airport on Gan Island.

Under the partnership, travelers can access 17 domestic destinations within the Maldives while maintaining connections to SriLankan Airlines' broader international network. The carrier currently operates three daily flights to Malé and two weekly services to Gan Island. Officials indicated that the agreement is designed to streamline the booking process and provide a unified travel experience for leisure and business passengers transferring between international and domestic flights.

The collaboration creates commercial opportunities for travel agents, tour operators, and corporate planners by offering simplified booking options across both carriers' networks. Dimuthu Tennakoon, Head of Commercial at SriLankan Airlines, characterized the partnership as a milestone in expanding regional operations and unlocking access to remote and popular island destinations. According to the airline, the initiative reflects its strategy of strengthening regional partnerships while leveraging its presence across 130 destinations in 63 countries.

The interline agreement represents an effort to improve connectivity within South Asia while positioning both carriers to capture additional passenger traffic through enhanced convenience and expanded travel options.
