Hollywood actor Will Smith is reportedly in negotiations to make his Indian cinema debut in director Atlee's upcoming sci-fi film Raaka, playing the main villain alongside Allu Arjun.
Will Smith is being considered for a significant role in director Atlee's forthcoming sci-fi action drama Raaka, according to reports from Mid-Day. The Oscar-winning actor has been approached to portray the primary antagonist, with filming expected to take place at an international location. Production coordinators are currently arranging Smith's schedule and will determine the overseas shooting venue based on his availability.
A source close to the production revealed that costume designs for the Hollywood star have already been finalized, indicating advanced stages of negotiation. "Will Smith's dates are being worked out. The overseas location will be locked depending on his availability," the insider stated. If confirmed, Smith's involvement would mark his first appearance in Indian cinema.
The project also features confirmed participation from Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, contrary to earlier reports suggesting otherwise. Khan is expected to join the international filming schedule following his work on another project. "He is currently shooting the final song for King and will face the camera for Raaka after September," according to the source.
Raaka stars Allu Arjun in what reports suggest could be a multi-character role, potentially playing four generations within a narrative exploring parallel universes, though filmmakers have not officially confirmed these details. The ensemble cast includes Deepika Padukone, Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor, and Mrunal Thakur. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and director Atlee.
