POP Culture 2026, a two-day international-scale youth festival sponsored by Elephant House Cream Soda, will take place on August 28-29 at Port City Colombo, featuring music, dance, fashion and art performances.

A major youth-focused festival is set to debut in Colombo this August, bringing together international entertainment standards with local cultural expression. Elephant House Cream Soda, partnering with ShowUp Entertainment, will host POP Culture 2026 across two days at Port City Colombo, positioning the event as a comprehensive celebration spanning music, dance, fashion, art and creative expression rather than a traditional music festival alone.

The organisers describe the initiative as a cultural movement intended to connect emerging Sri Lankan talent with regional and international performers and audiences. According to Elephant House Cream Soda's framing, the festival represents an investment in youth culture that extends beyond the brand's core beverage business, aiming to provide opportunities for young creators and performers to gain visibility beyond domestic audiences.

ShowUp Entertainment, the production partner behind previous events including Aluth Kalawak, Yaga Festival and Ahankara Nagare, brings experience in large-scale cultural productions to the collaboration. The organisers anticipate thousands of attendees and have designed the festival to deliver what they characterise as world-class production values and immersive experiences comparable to leading international youth events.

The venture reflects broader efforts by major Sri Lankan consumer brands to engage younger demographics through cultural sponsorships and experiential marketing, positioning Elephant House Cream Soda within the youth entertainment space.
