The National Housing Development Authority has suspended its General Manager with pay following preliminary findings of alleged serious misconduct, with investigations ongoing into the claims.
The General Manager of the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) has been placed on compulsory leave with pay following initial revelations of multiple allegations of serious misconduct. NHDA Chairman Aravinda Srinatha communicated the decision to the General Manager in writing, according to the authority's announcement.
During the period of leave, the General Manager is barred from accessing any NHDA facilities or worksites. Additionally, the official has been directed to seek permission from the NHDA Chairman before undertaking any overseas travel.
The allegations under investigation include alleged breaches of the Establishments Code and violations of NHDA's internal disciplinary regulations. According to Chairman Srinatha, the authority will pursue appropriate legal action against the General Manager if the accusations are substantiated through the ongoing inquiry.
