Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established 24-hour emergency hotlines and coordination channels to assist Sri Lankan nationals impacted by severe flooding in Nepal.
In response to deadly flash floods affecting Nepal, Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has activated emergency support mechanisms to help Sri Lankan nationals in the affected region. The government has established dedicated communication channels through the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kathmandu to provide immediate assistance, coordination, and necessary relief services to citizens requiring help.
Sri Lankan nationals in Nepal can access emergency support through a 24-hour hotline at +977 985 104 8653 or by emailing slemb.kathmandu@mfa.gov.lk. The Ministry has also designated Thushara Rodrigo, Director General of Public Diplomacy and Spokesperson, as the focal point for information and updates concerning affected Sri Lankans. He can be reached via mobile or WhatsApp at 070 788 7778, email at publicity@mfa.gov.lk, or fax at 0112 473 899.
The Ministry is working in close coordination with the embassy to monitor the evolving situation on the ground. Officials have urged Sri Lankan nationals in Nepal to prioritize their safety and remain informed through official channels as rescue and relief operations continue in the flood-affected areas.
