Police have arrested two Chinese nationals wanted in connection with the July 23 assault and murder of a Chinese national at Colombo Port City. The suspects were located hiding at a restaurant in Sigiriya on August 28.

The Colombo Crimes Division arrested two Chinese nationals on August 28 while they were concealed at a restaurant in Sigiriya. The pair are wanted in relation to an incident that unfolded on July 23 at the Colombo Port City premises, where a clash between rival groups of Chinese nationals resulted in multiple assaults and one abduction.

During the July 23 altercation, three Chinese nationals were attacked and one was forcibly taken. The abducted individual was subsequently found dead in Eheliyagoda. The circumstances surrounding the victim's death remain under investigation by authorities.

Police have been conducting an extensive investigation into the case, with multiple suspects already arrested and remanded. Prior to the August 28 arrests, authorities had publicly appealed for assistance in locating three Chinese nationals connected to the incident. The two newly arrested suspects are scheduled to appear in court on August 29 for further legal proceedings as the investigation continues.
