The Cabinet Sub-Committee tasked with managing the impact of El Niño conditions has scheduled a review meeting for August 17th, according to Minister of Water Supply Susil Ranasinghe. The session will bring together relevant government agencies and stakeholders to assess the current weather situation and coordinate mitigation efforts.

The Department of Meteorology has projected that El Niño's effects will continue to influence Sri Lanka's weather patterns until April of next year. Director General Ajith Wijeweera indicated that the country can expect predominantly dry conditions during the early weeks of September, as part of the broader weather pattern associated with the climatic phenomenon.
