Pixar has revealed that the third installment of The Incredibles will arrive in cinemas during summer 2028, with a storyline centering on the family's teenage children taking on superhero roles independently.

At the D23 expo held in Anaheim, California on Friday, Pixar announced the long-awaited release date for Incredibles 3, positioning the film for a 2028 summer debut. This announcement comes approximately two years after the studio first confirmed the project would move forward.

According to Alan Bergman, who leads Disney's filmmaking studios, the third film will introduce a new setting where superheroes are now openly acknowledged in society, featuring a Super Hero League. The narrative marks a significant shift in focus compared to previous entries, with protagonists Violet and Dash taking the lead roles as they transition into young adulthood.

The film will follow the siblings as they venture out at night to undertake their own superhero missions without parental supervision, seeking to establish themselves as legitimate heroes in their own right. Meanwhile, their parents Bob and Helen Parr will assume more watchful roles, while their youngest sibling Jack Jack grapples with increasingly uncontrollable powers.

The story will also feature a new antagonist who challenges the entire family. Central to the plot is Bob's personal struggle with his diminishing relevance in a world where superheroes have transitioned from operating in the shadows to becoming publicly recognized figures.
