The Department of Examinations has released the official dates for major national examinations in 2027, spanning from August through December.

Sri Lanka's Department of Examinations has announced the schedule for all major school-based examinations taking place in 2027. The announcement was made on August 24 by A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage, Commissioner General of Examinations.

The Grade 5 Scholarship Examination will be conducted on August 1, 2027, marking the start of the examination calendar. Following this, the GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examination is scheduled to run over an extended period from August 3 to 28, 2027. Additionally, the General Information Technology (GIT) Examination has been set for October 24, 2027.

The GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination will take place later in the year, scheduled for December 7 to 17, 2027. This examination season will conclude the calendar year's major testing events. The complete examination schedule provides students and educational institutions with advance notice to prepare accordingly for these assessments.
