The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has scheduled a temporary water outage in two Colombo suburbs tonight for maintenance work linked to a major water infrastructure programme.

Residents in Wellawatte and Pamankada will experience a seven-hour interruption to their water supply beginning at 10 pm tonight and continuing until 5 am tomorrow, according to an announcement from the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

The suspension has been scheduled to facilitate essential maintenance activities as part of the Greater Colombo Water and Wastewater Management Investment Programme, which is currently underway in the region. The Water Board characterized the work as part of broader improvement efforts to enhance water services in the greater Colombo area.

The Board has advised affected residents to prepare for the disruption by storing adequate quantities of water beforehand and practising water conservation during the outage period. Officials acknowledged the disruption and expressed regret for any inconvenience the temporary service interruption may cause to consumers in the affected neighbourhoods.
