International Monetary Fund representatives will visit Sri Lanka next month to conduct the seventh review of the country's Extended Fund Facility programme, with potential disbursement of approximately US$ 330 million pending.
The International Monetary Fund is scheduled to send a delegation to Sri Lanka in the coming month to undertake the seventh review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) agreement, according to the Ministry of Finance. During this visit, the IMF team will also evaluate the conditions for releasing the eighth tranche of the programme.
The Ministry of Finance has indicated that upon successful completion of the review, Sri Lanka can expect to receive a loan disbursement valued at approximately US$ 330 million. This would represent the next installment under the IMF's extended support framework for the country.
Previously, Sri Lanka received combined tranches during a review conducted in July, when both the sixth and seventh allocations totalling US$ 695 million were released to the government. The ongoing programme represents a key component of Sri Lanka's efforts to stabilise its economy and address fiscal challenges.
