The Inland Revenue Department has announced payment deadlines for July 2026 taxes, warning of penalties for late submissions and establishing clear cutoff dates for VAT payments and returns.

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has issued a series of deadlines for taxpayers to meet their obligations for July 2026. According to the announcement, Value Added Tax payments must reach the department by August 20, 2026, with the IRD warning that penalties will apply to any taxpayers who fail to pay on time or submit late payments.

The department has clarified that payments made through cheque, bank draft, or payment order will be treated as late if they arrive after the stipulated deadline. This guidance aims to ensure that all forms of payment are held to the same standard regardless of the payment method used.

In addition to VAT payments, the IRD has set separate deadlines for related tax obligations. Withholding tax must be paid by August 15, 2026, providing taxpayers with an earlier cutoff date for this particular requirement. Meanwhile, VAT returns for the month of July are required to be submitted online no later than August 31, 2026.

The department's announcement underscores the importance of timely compliance with tax obligations and serves as a reminder to taxpayers to plan accordingly to avoid penalties and potential complications with their tax status.
