OneDriver.lk has received the Silver award in the Best Automotive Website category at BestWeb.LK 2026, recognising its evolution from manual operations to a technology-driven driver-as-a-service platform.
OneDriver.lk has been recognised with a Silver award in the Best Automotive Website category at the BestWeb.LK 2026 awards ceremony held on 12 August 2026. The accolade marks a significant milestone for the company, which has transformed from a manually operated service into a fully integrated technology platform while maintaining its focus on customer safety and personal service.
The company originated as Drink'nDrive, a service designed to help customers return home safely in their own vehicles after social outings. A professional driver would travel to the customer and operate the vehicle for the return journey. The service has since expanded under the OneDriver brand to encompass airport transfers, corporate travel, event services, long-distance journeys, tourism and vehicle servicing. The company now operates with a network exceeding 35 professional drivers serving more than 2,500 customers around the clock, positioning itself as Sri Lanka's leading Driver-as-a-Service provider.
Central to this transformation has been a partnership with technology firm HighFlyer Global, which engineered a comprehensive ERP platform replacing handwritten booking records. The system integrates bookings, driver allocation, pricing, vehicle tracking, notifications, invoicing and payments. The platform includes agentic AI capabilities allowing management to extract business insights through natural language queries. The internal driver application operates in Sinhala, Tamil and English, enhancing accessibility across the workforce.
Despite its technology infrastructure, OneDriver has deliberately avoided launching a customer-facing mobile application. Instead, the company maintains a direct contact approach through telephone and WhatsApp messaging. Founder Lakmal Wijesiri stated that the company prioritises simplicity, noting that customers prefer speaking directly with a person rather than navigating additional app downloads and registrations.
