A crash between a cab and a three-wheeler in Anuradhapura has claimed three lives, including a 10-day-old baby. The cab driver has been taken into custody.
A collision between a cab and a three-wheeler has resulted in three fatalities in Gonamariyawa, Kabithigollewa, Anuradhapura. Among the deceased is a 10-day-old infant, according to police reports.
Two women were among those killed in the accident. Police identified the deceased women as being aged 51 and 26, both residents of Yaya 10 in the Sripura area.
The driver of the three-wheeler sustained injuries in the impact and was transferred to Anuradhapura Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have arrested the cab driver in connection with the incident as investigations into the accident continue.
