A 17-year-old has been fatally wounded with a sharp weapon in Eheliyagoda following an altercation between rival groups, with police searching for the suspect.
A 17-year-old youth was killed with a sharp weapon in the Nadurana area of Eheliyagoda, according to police reports. The victim, identified as a resident of Arapola in Eheliyagoda, died as a result of injuries sustained during the incident.
Police attributed the killing to an escalating dispute between two groups in the area. The confrontation intensified to the point of violence, resulting in the fatal attack on the teenager.
The suspect responsible for the attack fled the scene before law enforcement could apprehend him. Eheliyagoda Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to locate and arrest the perpetrator.
