UAE cricketer Asif Khan has accepted a 15-month suspension after testing positive for a banned substance in an out-of-competition test, with his ban running through December 2026.
United Arab Emirates cricketer Asif Khan has been suspended for 15 months following his admission to a doping violation under the International Cricket Council's Anti-Doping Code. Khan tested positive for a metabolite of mesterolone during an out-of-competition test on 8 September 2025.
The suspension was determined through a Case Resolution Agreement reached with the World Anti-Doping Agency and the ICC. Khan admitted to violating Article 2.1 of the ICC Anti-Doping Code and accepted the period of ineligibility without pursuing an appeal, as the agreement contains no appeal rights.
The 15-month ban is effective from 8 September 2025 through 7 December 2026. Khan will be permitted to resume training with his team and access club facilities beginning 8 October 2026, though he will not be eligible to play competitively until 8 December 2026. All of Khan's individual results from the date of the positive test until his provisional suspension on 29 December 2025 have been disqualified, resulting in the forfeiture of any associated medals, points, prize money, and other awards from that period.
