Sri Lankan left-hander Kamil Mishara made his Test debut in the second Test against India at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, with India winning the toss and choosing to bat first.

Kamil Mishara, a 25-year-old left-handed batter, was handed his Test debut in Sri Lanka's second and final match against India at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on August 23rd. The newcomer opened the innings alongside Lahiru Udara as the home team sought to recover from a 165-run loss in the opening Test held in Galle.

Mishara's selection came on the back of impressive domestic form, highlighted by a 174-run knock for Sri Lanka A in a match against New Zealand A earlier in 2026. His inclusion reflects the selectors' confidence in the young opener as Sri Lanka attempts to level the series.

India secured the toss advantage and elected to bat first, positioning themselves to set the tone for the match. The visiting team carried momentum from their victory in the first Test, while Sri Lanka's XI also included captain Dhananjaya de Silva and wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella among other established players.
