Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division questioned SLPP National Organiser Namal Rajapaksa for nearly five hours on Friday regarding the acquisition of Tangalle Bay Hotel using funds allegedly linked to Channel CSN.

The Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) questioned SLPP National Organiser and Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa on Friday as part of an ongoing investigation into a significant property transaction. Rajapaksa arrived at FCID headquarters in the morning following a formal summons and remained at the premises until evening while providing his statement to investigators.

The inquiry centres on the purchase of Tangalle Bay Hotel, which authorities allege was funded through money obtained from Channel CSN. Investigators summoned Rajapaksa to record his account of the transaction as part of their continuing examination into how the funds were sourced and utilised for the hotel acquisition.

The questioning lasted approximately five hours, indicating the complexity of the matter under investigation. The FCID, which specialises in financial crimes, has been conducting a broader probe into the circumstances surrounding the hotel purchase and its financing arrangements.
