Rush Lanka's residential development Rush Metropolis has obtained BOI approval, positioning itself as the first high-rise apartment complex in Dehiwala with regulatory endorsement from Sri Lanka's investment authority.
Rush Lanka announced that its Rush Metropolis project in Dehiwala received Board of Investment approval on 23 July, representing a significant regulatory milestone for the residential development. The approval was granted by the Board of Investment office, the statutory agency responsible for evaluating foreign and local investments in Sri Lanka. The project represents the first high-rise residential development in the Dehiwala area to obtain such endorsement.
Rush Metropolis comprises 125 residential units alongside amenities designed for residents, including a swimming pool, children's pool, equipped gymnasium, children's play area, and rooftop gathering space. Company leadership, including Managing Director Sabeer Iqbal and Director Zaid Ariff, attended the formal approval ceremony. According to the developer, the BOI endorsement signals that the project has undergone additional scrutiny and operates within an established regulatory framework.
The company emphasizes that BOI approval demonstrates regulatory compliance and formal recognition of the investment, complementing other certifications the project holds including CIDA grading and ISO certification. For foreign investors and overseas Sri Lankans, BOI-approved projects typically facilitate easier access to property ownership within local legal parameters. The developer argues that such approval provides buyers with confidence that a project has met specific regulatory conditions and professional management standards.
While BOI approval adds a layer of regulatory assurance, industry analysts note that prospective buyers should still conduct independent verification of critical documents, including title deeds and condominium registration, to ensure comprehensive due diligence before committing to a purchase.
