Sri Lanka's Cabinet has greenlit a proposal to establish six travel service counters at Bandaranaike International Airport's arrival lobby through a competitive bidding process won by six companies.
The Cabinet of Ministers has given approval to establish six travel service counters in the arrival lobby of Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, following a proposal from the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation. The decision came after a national competitive bidding process that attracted ten company proposals seeking the opportunity to operate these facilities.
The High-Level Standing Procurement Committee evaluated the submissions and recommended six companies for the concessions, each awarded for a three-year operational period. The successful bidders and their respective bid amounts are Casons Travel at Rs. 251.03 million, Explore Vacations and Travels at Rs. 234.73 million, J N W Lanka Tours at Rs. 209.67 million, Awavia Tours at Rs. 189.66 million, Ceylon Arrivals at Rs. 183.60 million, and Ayubowan Tours & Travels at Rs. 171.53 million.
The establishment of these travel counters is expected to enhance services available to passengers arriving at the airport, offering them convenient access to tour and travel booking facilities during their arrival process.
