Authorities have implemented dedicated transport arrangements to support candidates undertaking the GCE Advanced Level Examination, with thousands of buses and regular train services made available.
Transport authorities in Sri Lanka have activated special services to facilitate candidates sitting for the GCE Advanced Level Examination. According to Dr Nilan Miranda, Director General of the National Transport Commission, approximately 1,700 Sisu Seriya buses have been deployed to provide transport during the examination period.
The Sri Lanka Transport Board has prioritised school bus operations throughout the duration of the examinations. Officials have received instructions to maintain continuous service on school bus routes without disruption, ensuring students can reach examination centres reliably.
Railway services have also been coordinated to support the examination period. Sri Lanka Railways confirmed that trains will operate according to the regular timetable with no cancellations scheduled. Additionally, routine track maintenance work typically conducted on Saturdays has been temporarily suspended to prevent any service interruptions during the examination period.
These coordinated efforts across multiple transport agencies reflect a comprehensive approach to ensuring seamless movement for examination candidates across the country.
