The Sri Lanka Corporate Director Summit 2026 convened more than 350 board directors, senior business leaders and governance professionals alongside over 15 international thought leaders at Cinnamon Grand Colombo. The event, organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors and held under the theme "Future-Ready Sri Lankan Boards – From Compliance to Sustainable Growth," marked a significant milestone as the institute celebrated 25 years of work in advancing corporate governance and board leadership in Sri Lanka.
Deloitte Sri Lanka served as the strategic partner for the summit, with senior leaders participating across multiple sessions. Duleesha Kulasooriya, Asia Pacific Innovation Leader at Deloitte Center for the Edge, delivered a keynote address emphasising that competitive advantage stems not from technology alone but from leadership capable of learning rapidly, making informed decisions and acting decisively. He identified curiosity, curation and courage as essential leadership qualities and positioned good governance as critical to enabling responsible innovation.
The summit addressed several governance priorities facing contemporary boards. Discussions examined how directors can move beyond compliance requirements to provide stronger strategic direction, how boards should respond to rapid technological change and evolving stakeholder expectations, and the significance of talent strategy and organisational culture in addressing skills shortages and transformation. Participants explored governance frameworks that strengthen organisational resilience while maintaining stakeholder confidence.
Deloitte leaders contributed across keynote, panellist and moderator roles, bringing regional and global perspectives to boardroom challenges. The firm's participation reflected an emphasis on practical approaches to emerging governance priorities as organisations navigate economic, technological and societal change.
