The much-anticipated Ramayana film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash will release internationally on November 6, 2026, followed by an India release two days later on Diwali, according to producer Namit Malhotra.
The release strategy for the highly anticipated Ramayana adaptation has been clarified, with the filmmakers planning a phased rollout across markets. International audiences will have access to the film on November 6, 2026, while Indian viewers are set to receive it on November 8, coinciding with the Diwali festival. Producer Namit Malhotra confirmed this approach, noting that the staggered dates allow the film to capitalize on the significant cultural moment of Diwali in India while simultaneously launching in overseas markets.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the epic is being developed as a two-part production drawing from Hindu mythology. The ensemble cast includes Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role of Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash portraying the antagonist Ravana. Supporting performances come from Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey. The production is being handled by Namit Malhotra in collaboration with the international production company Prime Focus, reflecting the filmmakers' ambition to reach a global audience.
The timing of the Indian release on Diwali provides significant commercial advantages, as the major holiday creates favorable conditions for theatrical releases.
