Cinnamon Box Office has unveiled its Destination Event Calendar with plans to host international productions, beginning with a Michael Jackson tribute concert in November 2026, as part of efforts to establish Colombo as a premier entertainment destination.

Cinnamon Box Office (CBO) officially launched its Destination Event Calendar on August 6, 2026, at City of Dreams Sri Lanka, marking a strategic expansion of entertainment offerings in Colombo. The initiative represents an effort to develop the city into a regional center for live entertainment and cultural experiences, combining ticketing services with hospitality and tourism infrastructure.

The first major production under this calendar is "This Is Michael – Relive the Legend," billed as the world's leading Michael Jackson tribute concert. Presented by City of Dreams Sri Lanka, the show will be staged on November 8 and 9, 2026, at The Podium. According to CBO, the production features a performer known for vocal and physical resemblance to Jackson, accompanied by choreography, live music, and visual effects designed to recreate the artist's iconic performances.

CBO, operating under John Keells Group and Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, has positioned itself as more than a ticketing platform, describing its role as connecting local and international audiences with globally recognized productions. The organization has previously brought Broadway productions including "Mamma Mia" and "The Sound of Music" to Sri Lanka, alongside culinary events and thought leadership engagements. According to CBO's statement, the expanded event calendar aims to strengthen Colombo's appeal to both residents and tourists by offering premium entertainment experiences that encourage extended visits to the city.
