Dutch drug safety officials have issued a red alert regarding ecstasy pills containing dangerous levels of PMMA, a substance that poses serious health risks to users.

The Trimbos Institute, a Dutch drug testing organization, has released a public health warning regarding ecstasy pills that were submitted for analysis in August. According to the institute, the pills contain significantly elevated concentrations of PMMA, a chemical compound with effects similar to MDMA but carrying substantially greater health risks.

The substance is known to cause uncontrollable body temperature increases, which can lead to severe medical complications or fatal outcomes. The Trimbos Institute has urged the public to avoid these pills entirely, stating: "Do not use this pill under any circumstance."

The pills are identifiable by distinctive markings, including an image of a face on one side and text reading "Trump" and "NL" on the reverse. Despite the serious warning, the institute has reported no confirmed deaths or significant medical emergencies directly attributed to these pills at this time.

The red alert represents a significant public health intervention by Dutch authorities, highlighting ongoing concerns about the safety of illicit drug supplies and the risks posed by unregulated substances.
