The National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency has initiated an analysis of potential El Niño effects on Sri Lanka's marine environment and fish stocks, according to agency Chairman Dr. Sanath Hettiarachchi. The research effort brings together multiple institutions, including the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, to examine the climate phenomenon's likely consequences.
