The death toll continues to rise as rescue operations enter their fourth day, with emergency responders navigating challenging conditions to reach survivors in affected areas.
The scale of the disaster extends beyond confirmed fatalities. Authorities have documented 2,426 people reported missing in the aftermath of the flooding. Among those unaccounted for are at least 517 foreign nationals, leaving families across multiple countries anxiously awaiting information about their relatives' whereabouts.
Rescue efforts have been hampered by ongoing weather challenges. Teams operating in the Trishuli region report that continued rainfall is preventing emergency responders from accessing some of the hardest-hit communities, slowing recovery and search operations.
