Police have apprehended three suspects in connection with a fatal assault that occurred in the Katana Police Division on August 28, with investigations continuing into the circumstances of the killing.
The Negombo Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau has arrested three individuals suspected of involvement in a murder case that unfolded in late August. According to police reports, the incident occurred on August 28 in the Katana Police Division, where a man was fatally assaulted.
The three suspects, aged 23, 47, and 49, were taken into custody on August 29 following a police investigation. Officers identified the youngest suspect as the primary perpetrator allegedly responsible for carrying out the assault, while the other two are accused of providing assistance in the commission of the crime.
The arrested individuals are residents of the Kadirana, Eththukala, and Kochchikade areas. The Negombo Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau initiated inquiries after the incident was reported, and their work led to the identification and apprehension of the suspects. The Katana Police continue to conduct further investigations into the matter as the case proceeds.
