Over 400 participants attended Sri Lanka's inaugural Nature Trail Wellness Run on July 18th, an event that combined morning running with holistic wellness activities at the scenic Diyatha Uyana Nature Trail.
Spa Ceylon organized what it describes as Sri Lanka's first Nature Trail Wellness Run on July 18th, drawing more than 400 participants to the Diyatha Uyana Nature Trail for an event that extended beyond traditional running competitions. The sunrise event began at 6 a.m., positioning the early morning hours as an opportunity for participants to engage with nature while benefiting from natural light and fresh air in a lush outdoor setting.
Beyond the run itself, the event featured an array of complementary wellness activities grounded in Ayurvedic principles. Participants had access to yoga sessions, guided recovery rituals, sun care stations, muscle recovery treatments, and healthy refreshments. The organizers also created interactive community spaces and ForestVeda wellness discovery experiences, framing the overall event as a comprehensive wellbeing journey rather than a competition focused solely on finishing times.
According to Spa Ceylon's co-founders, the event reflects the company's broader philosophy of integrating wellness into daily life. Shiwantha Dias emphasized that wellness extends beyond product offerings to encompassing meaningful experiences that foster community connection and healthier lifestyles. Shalin Balasuriya noted that the initiative represents Spa Ceylon's commitment to making Sri Lanka's recognition as a global wellness destination tangible through accessible, community-focused experiences.
The Nature Trail Wellness Run marks the beginning of a planned series of wellness-led community events from the luxury Ayurveda wellness chain. The company positions the initiative as part of its mission to make wellbeing more accessible while celebrating the island's natural heritage and traditional healing practices.
