Real estate development firm TWC Development Management has appointed Theekshana Jayarathna as Chief Executive Officer to lead the company's expansion in Sri Lanka's growing property sector.
TWC Development Management has announced the appointment of Theekshana Jayarathna as Chief Executive Officer, marking a leadership change at the real estate-focused subsidiary of TWC Holdings. The appointment comes as the company seeks to strengthen its management team amid expanding operations across domestic and regional markets.
Jayarathna brings substantial experience in property development and asset management to the role. He previously spent 14 years at John Keells Group, where he served as Assistant Vice President and Head of Asset Management & New Business Development. During his tenure there, he worked on multiple major projects including Cinnamon Life and other apartment, hotel and retail developments with a combined value exceeding USD 1.5 billion. Since 2022, he has been with the TWC group. Jayarathna holds professional qualifications including membership in the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and degrees in Quantity Surveying and Building Economics from the University of Reading.
TWC Development Management specializes in providing comprehensive real estate services spanning from initial planning through project completion. The company offers services including development strategy, feasibility analysis, financial structuring, design management, and construction oversight. According to TWC Founder and Executive Chairman Thilan Wijesinghe, Jayarathna's appointment reflects the unit's growth trajectory and his expertise across multiple real estate sectors will strengthen client delivery.
The development management firm has been involved in significant recent transactions, including advising on the USD 96 million sale of Marina Plots at Colombo Port City—described as Sri Lanka's largest land sale transaction. The company is currently engaged with a project pipeline valued at over USD 120 million, focused on tourism, hospitality and commercial real estate sectors.
