Sri Lankan police have identified multiple properties owned by notorious drug trafficker Shiran Basik, who was arrested in Dubai and deported to Sri Lanka in August.
Investigations into drug trafficker Shiran Basik have revealed a significant portfolio of properties allegedly owned by the suspect, according to police statements. During questioning, authorities disclosed that Basik owns two residential houses and two mobile phone retail outlets located in Boralesgamuwa, a suburb of Colombo.
Further questioning revealed additional assets, with police confirming that Basik owns five hotels situated along Marine Drive in Colombo's commercial district. These disclosures emerged as law enforcement continues its examination of the suspect's financial holdings and asset base.
A court has ordered a comprehensive review of all bank accounts associated with Basik as part of the ongoing investigation. This financial audit is expected to provide greater clarity on the scope of his business operations and potential proceeds from illicit activities.
Basik, identified as a prominent figure in drug trafficking networks, had previously fled Sri Lanka and concealed himself in Dubai before being apprehended and extradited to the island nation. He arrived back in Sri Lanka on August 14th and has since been subjected to police interrogation regarding his criminal activities and accumulated assets.
